Arrival in Amman via EY513 at 12:05. After immigration and customs for-malities, meet your guide and drive to Petra for check in, dinner and overnight.
10NOV (SAT) PETRA-AMMAN(B,L,D)
After breakfast, tour Petra. Considered one of the world’s wonders. Walk through the Siq and see various tem- ples, the Amphitheater, the Monastery and the Treasury. Drive to Amman for dinner and overnight.
11NOV (SUN) AMMAN -ALLENBY BRIDGE -MT TABOR TIBERIAS(B,L,D)
After breakfast drive to the Allenby Border to cross to Israel. After security, immigration and customs formalities, meet your guide then start your tour of Israel by visiting Mt. Tabor, where according to tradition the miracle of the Transfiguration of Christ took place. In remembrance of this, the Church of Transfiguration was built in 1923, the last of a series of religious buildings that was destroyed in past centuries, usually as a result of war. On to Tiberias for check in, dinner and overnight.
12NOV (MON) NAZARETH-BOAT RIDE -MT OF BEATITUDES CAPER-NAUM-TABGHA JORDAN RIVER(B,L,D)
After breakfast drive to Nazareth and visit theBasilica of the Annunciation in Nazareth erected over the grotto where according to tradition, the arch- angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would be the mother of Christ. Nearby, visit the Church of St. Joseph.Drive back to the Galilee area viewing the ancient boat that was excavated on the shores of the Galilee, believed to have been used during the time of Jesus. After which take a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee as Jesus and the apostles did. Drive up the Mt. of Beati-tudes, where Jesus preached the Ser-mon on the Mount. Proceed to Caper-naum where Christ went to live after He left Nazareth. See the ruins of an ancient synagogue, one of the earliest and best preserved of the Galilean synagogues. On to the church built over the ruins of what was believed as the house of St. Peter. Proceed to Tab-gha and visit the Benedictine Church of the Multiplication and Church of St. Peter’s Primacy. Drive to Yardenit, a traditional baptismal site on the Jordan River for the renewal of baptismal vows. Driveback to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
13NOV (TUE) CANA—MT. CARMEL CEASAREA -JAFFA-JERUSALEM (B,L,D)
After breakfast drive to Cana where Jesus performed His first miracle at the request of His mother. Couples will have the chance to renew their mar-riage vows. Heading towards Haifa
through Carmel Mountains, We will stop at Muhraka, the site of sacrifice located on the spot where Elijah con-fronted the false priests of Ba’al. On to Caesarea to see the Roman Amphi-theater and Crusader Fortress. Drive along the coast through Tel Aviv end-ing in the old port city of Jaffa. Here,visit St. Peter’s Church. Drive to Jerusa-lem for check in, dinner and overnight.
14NOV (WED) BETHLEHEM -MOUNT OF OLIVES (B,L,D)
After breakfast drive to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity built over the tomb of St. Geronimo. In the grotto under the altar, see the silver star which marks the place of Jesus’ birth. Next door to the Church of the Nativity is the Roman Catholic church of St. Catherine.It is in this church that Christmas midnight mass is celebrated and relayed throughout the world via satellite. Visit the Shepherd’s Field where angels appeared to the shep-herds to announce the birth of Jesus.In the afternoon, we drive up the Mount ofOlives stopping at the Church of the Ascension then the Church of Pater Noster where we will
see different translations of the Lord’s Prayer. Walk along the Palm Sunday Road passing by the Franciscan Church of the Dominus Flevit, where the Lord wept and shed a tear for the
city of Jerusalem. We continue on the Palm Sunday Road ending at the Gar-den of Gethsemane and the Church of All Nations. Back to the hotel for din-ner and overnight.
15NOV (THU) OLD CITY OF JERUSALEM -MT. ZION (B,L,D)
After breakfast, proceed to the old city of Jerusalem stopping first at the Church of St. Anne and the pool of Bethesda. Continue walking along theVia Dolorosa, also called the “Way of the Cross”. There are fourteen stations along the route each commemorating an event along Jesus’ route to crucifix-ion. End up at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. On to Mt. Zion to visit the room of the Last Supper, King David’s Tomb and the Church of Dormition, where the Blessed Virgin Mary fell into eternal sleep. Continue on to the Church of St. Peter in Gallicantu, built on the site of the house of high priest Caiaphas. It is on this site that Peter denied Jesus three times. Drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
16NOV (FRI) ISRAEL MUSEUM-JERICHO-QUMRAN —DEAD SEA WAILING WALL (B,L,D)
After breakfast visit the Israel Museum to see the Second Temple Model. Drive to Jericho, believed to be the oldest city. View the Mount of Temp-tation and an old Sycamore tree. Con-
tinue on to Qumran, where the Dead Sea scrolls were discovered. Here you will get the chance to buy the famous Dead Sea products. Proceed to the Dead Sea which is also called “Sea of Salt” and is the lowest spot on the surface of the globe. Here you can experience floating and swimming in these waters which have amazing healing powers. Last stop is the holiest site of the Jewish nation, the Western Wall. Drive back to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
17NOV (SAT) BETHANY -EIN KAREM (B,L,D)
After breakfast visit Bethany, the village of Mary, Martha and Lazarus. It is the scene of the great miracle of the rais- ing of Lazarus to life by Jesus. Onto Ein Karem, the birthplace of John the Bap-tist. A slow and uphill climb to the Church of the Visitation where Mary went to see her cousin Elizabeth who greeted the future mother of Jesus with the words “blessed art thou among women”.
